Intuitionism
The meta-ethical position that moral properties are non-natural, objective, and knowable through intuition or rational insight. Philosophers like Moore, Pritchard, and Ross argued that 'good' is a simple, indefinable, non-natural property apprehended directly by moral sense or reason. Moral facts exist objectively, independent of opinion.
Real World
When most people instinctively recoiled at images of Alan Kurdi, the Syrian toddler who drowned in 2015, intuitionists like Ross would argue this immediate moral reaction — before any reasoning — is evidence of genuine moral intuition apprehending objective wrongness.
Exam Focus
