Hart-Fuller debate
Hart-Fuller debate
Real World
The debate arose from a 1958 Harvard Law Review exchange prompted by Nazi-era cases, such as a wife who reported her husband to authorities under a law she knew was unjust. Hart said the law was valid but immoral; Fuller said it failed law's inner morality and was not true law at all.
Exam Focus
Structure answers around both scholars' positions equally — one-sided analysis cannot access top-band marks.
