Actus reus
Actus reus
Real World
In R v Pittwood (1902), a railway crossing keeper failed to close the gate, and a person was killed by a train. His omission — failing to act when he had a contractual duty — was held to be a sufficient actus reus for manslaughter.
Exam Focus
