AQA requires you to complete at least four full days of fieldwork across your A-level course. These days give you the hands-on experience you need before writing your independent investigation.
Real World
A class might spend Day 1 measuring river discharge and bedload at sites along the River Exe in Devon (physical), Day 2 conducting pedestrian counts and land-use surveys in Exeter city centre (human), and so on — building a portfolio of varied primary data collection methods before writing their NEA.
Exam Focus
If asked about the purpose of the four fieldwork days, emphasise that they develop primary data collection skills and provide the experiential basis for your independent investigation.
