Law of Demand
The law of demand states that there is an inverse relationship between price and quantity demanded, ceteris paribus. When the price of a good increases, the quantity demanded decreases, and when price decreases, quantity demanded increases, assuming all other factors remain constant.
Real World
When Netflix raised its UK standard plan price from £10.99 to £12.99 in 2024, over one million subscribers cancelled, demonstrating the inverse price–quantity demanded relationship.
