The role of troponin is not required
AQA does not ask you to explain what troponin does. You only need to know the role of tropomyosin and calcium ions in muscle contraction.

Researchers studying heart drugs often target troponin, but AQA A-level examiners will not credit troponin detail — marks go to tropomyosin and calcium ion roles only.

If troponin appears in a multiple-choice distractor, recognise it is outside the spec — focus your answer on tropomyosin and Ca²⁺.
